A rich, sweet, and smoky homemade barbecue sauce with tomato sauce, brown sugar, molasses, and warm spices. Perfect on ribs, pulled pork, or anything off the grill.
Pour olive oil into a small saucepan and heat over medium-high heat.
Add minced garlic and allow it to sizzle for about 30 seconds.
Add chopped onion and sauté, stirring frequently, until onion becomes translucent.
Stir in tomato sauce and reduce heat to medium.
Add all remaining ingredients: brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, pepper, vinegar, molasses, salt, honey, mustard, and cayenne.
Continue heating and stirring for 30 minutes until thickened. Use on any smoked meat.
